So lately I have been having an inner battle, unable to decide which route to take after high school. Fine Arts or Screenwriting? Ryerson University or OCAD? It’s hard for me to decide because I really do love both drawing and writing. Art has always been my passion, on the other hand, writing is my new passion and who’s to say it’s not as important as Art in my life?

Both fields of work seem like a tough industry to get in, but tougher to decide which to go in. People have said that I have a talent in art, and maybe I do, but it’s not as good as many in deviantART and all around the world. I would love to improve my art skills and take Fine Arts in OCAD. Art has always been the one thing I was not so bad at, but now there’s writing. A few (only 2, really) teachers told me that I am or could be a good writer and ever since then I’d been…I guess practicing. I’ve been writing some stories and I really enjoy it. But something tells me I shouldn’t listen to what other people say and just listen to what I want.

I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WANT! It’s like…I need a moment of clarity or…something. And then BOOM! I realize that I am usually inspired to write. And this example sounds totally lame, but I was inspired by GRASS. Seriously. So now I’m leaning more into writing and I just have to know if I’m any good. Now, I’m not saying Art is less important, anyway I’ll probably change my mind in a few.

Everything is just going so fast and I, like every other 17 year old, feel like grade 12 came so fast and so soon. And the whole school year, without a doubt, pass by very quickly. Please don’t beat me up for saying this, but my friend reminded me yesterday that there are only 20 more days until school.
